the Mopar man whose name shall not be spoken
Today I Googled Mopar Mel, to remember which town he lives in, and I came across an item on a lawsuit filed against him in 2010.
Interesting reading...some guy contracted to have a Belv HT restored and "upgraded" to Sport Fury...with all the additional options, he was ready to shell out $62,000.
The car was delivered, restored to Mel's level of perfection, which fell short of the buyer's level (rust holes in the trunk, dent in fender, etc), so the buyer did not make the final payment. Mel sued for the $7K balance, and won. But the buyer appealed, and the court reversed the decision. Not clear to me if the buyer kept the car for $53K, or returned it for refund, maybe someone here will read the file and report here?

Maybe he should be known as Low Rent Mel.

Not sure if it's the case, but I was told this last weekend that he is no longer in business.

I see on E bay he is still selling complete interior kits for FL cars but as far as complete cars (or semi complete cars) I don' t see that he is doing that anymore, but maybe he is just quite about it and not as visible due to his reputation.

i've heard that Mopar Mel has Alzheimers and requires help sourcing parts for his restorations. Would like to get independent verification of this.
