Grefrath Germany - August 17, 2013
Yesterday we had a great day touring through the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. We heard about a great car show in Grefrath (Germany) and decided to go there. It was a nice drive to Germany but we had some light rain before we got there. Once we arrived the sky was blue again and it was nice and warm Lots of nice cars and even more amazing there were some other fifties Plymouth at the show! We sat behind our convertible and looked right at a 57 and 2 58's just to find out that there was another Christine clone in the tent behind us.
And of course we had to follow Dan's tradition and put a lady in the car to demonstrate the swivel seat!
Too bad all people there spoke German and not much else and that is not making communicating easier, I can speak their language a little (enough to talk to some of the owners) but still prefer English. Matthew does not speak German and did not not want to enter the show & shine there, you had to drive through the tent and stop before a grand stand where they would talk about your car and judge it. And they would even want you to talk back in German.....
Around noon a guy came up to Matthew and asked if would be willing to help them out, they needed a 50's convertible for a fashion show in the big tent. The guy spoke a little bit of English and Matthew agreed. It ws great fun with all the women dressed in their fifties clothes swirling around the convertible and eventually hop in the car. Matthew drove away with 9 women in the car and hasn't been seen again
We stayed until 5 PM as we had to drive back through Belgium, this weekend they closed 2 interstates from Germany to our home. A bit tired when we got home but we are going to be back there next year.

Re: Grefrath Germany
No wagon needed...you managed to fit all in a convertible!
This is your first post of a "cruise" since last year! Great to see the car and Matthew again.
You said the car was on national TV back in March..you said you'd post those pictures...we'd love to see them too!

Nice photos, looks like a fun show! I could see how the language barrier could be difficult, though.

I tried my new camera yesterday too.
Made a 7 minute movie but I need to figure out all the stuff with music and shorten the movies.
Enjoy!

Thanks, Ron. My computer can't handle the download, but hopefully others will enjoy it.

Re: Grefrath Germany
Nine Females in the Convertible Matthew? I bet your face was as red as your car! That has to be a record for that many in people in one car (10 that is is) and off course all had seat belts for safety right?
Looks like a good show.
