Chryslers at Carlisle 2013

Post by Faulkner »

Time to back Faulkner out of the garage, wash the dust off, and take him out for a test drive. He'll be appearing at Carlisle - will you? Ron, Matthew and I will be there. Hope to see you there!

I will be there in person but no Plymouth. My friend Merle Wolfer is bringing his just completed 58 Chrysler 300D. I will be riding shotgun with him this time. We are going to attend the WPC National in St Paul MN on the way home, This is a joint meet with the National DeSoto club.

We are staying at the Plantation Inn in Mechanicsburg. See ya there.

I was all signed up at Carilse, have my Carlisle sticker et al and just picked up my new 2013 Dodge Ram Crew Cab a couple weeks ago (with of course, a Hemi in it ) to tow the 59 Convert in my car trailer. But I am bailing out due to me getting a new total replacement Right Knee on the July 18th. I will get a left total knee before years end. So then I will have a matched set. With my Dad all moved out here now I can get things fixed up.

I was hoping to put it off (the surgery) till August but the pain is severe and it is difficult to drive any car for a extended period of time which is affecting work sales calls. Ron Kiej and Mopar Rick (Rick Clapham) was going to drive out with me but I would get back two days before my operation and that is cutting it close should there be bad weather or trailer issues. And all the pre-op stuff to do too!

My wife says just do it next year, which I will!

(*yawn*) Faulkner awakes from his slumber

Post by Faulkner »

...and so does Dan!

Topped off all the fluids, backed him out, and took him for a spin in the environs. Upper Darby, Havertown, Ardmore... Of course, the requisite "look at Christine!" remarks, with my "younger sister" retort. Faulkner stuttered each time!

Now to give a wash, and prepare for Ron's arrival and our trip with Matthew to see Ed Ober. That's a good enough shakeout for Carlisle.

Sorry you can't join us, John - hope we see you next year. To everyone else, hope to see you there!

I was there today but did not see many other 59 Plymouth owners :( I met David Wilson there but his dad and their 59's were at home. Tom Fox was also there with Merle Wolfer.

There was one other 59 there but I forgot the owners name, he just bought his car a month ago and it is an all original Plymouth Fury with only 27000 miles on it when he bought it. The odometer is on 28000 now as he drove it to Carlisle.

I will make pictures tomorrow as it wasn't sunny today and we even had a little rain during the day. Now lets hope the rain goes away and we get some sunshine on Saturday preferably with the same temperature as today 8)
