Ron, Margo & Matthew have been to this park when visiting me.
Temps were in the upper 50's with low 60's expected on Sunday.

Hey John,
I love how you did the SF interior on your Belvedere........Are those
little buckles on the seats available aftermarket or are they real deal SF items?
great colour combo too. my belvy is missing the left hand side rear inner trim.

Re: 2012 revisited PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!
Jason, those are real SF buckles on the seats, Tough to find of course, I am trying to scrounge up the type that go on the door panels to finish off the interior. These buckles seldom come up on Ebay (I am always looking for them...) and are scarce at any US Swap meet. I am not aware of any other type from another car line that would work on our cars.
They don't look like they would be tough to fabricate up but beyond my scope to due so. Maybe we (someone) can make a mold and do them in Plastic and use the Chrome paint to make them look like the originals....Just a thought.
The swivel seats were an option on Savoy's, Belvy's and Fury's in 59 but standard on SF. The color is the correct "Spring Color" for Plymouths in 1959. My wife and I thought this color would be more 50 ish and is seldom seen since it was a Spring Color offering. My car was an April of 1959 build so it was in the correct production time period that could have had a "Spring Color" Paint on it. I did upgrade to the SF interior fabric and bolster was one liberty I took to the interior, My wife liked this better then the Belvy all vinyl choice.

Re: 2012 revisited PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!
Regarding the upholstery "buckles and hasps", when I was thinking I might need some, I believe I wrote to Gary Goers about whether he would be able to re-manufacture these. Gary sells reproduction "scripts", mainly for the big-buck Letter cars.
I don't recall any details, but as we all know, Gary is laid up with illness and has a huge backlog of work awaiting him.
I hadn't thought of plastic casting, only bronze or brass (I have no experience with metal-casting).

Re: 2012 revisited PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the reply guys...........There is a guy in adelaide who casts from brass and alluminium etc...
as he reproduces antique door knobs and fittings for antique houses. I have never actually seen these
'buckles' in real life and I will have to talk to this guy first to see.............Maybe John at BIG M might be
able to scrounge one up for me? My guess is that these items are in big demand? just like bumper wings,
roof moulding clips , SF fin Medallions etc......
Thanks guys.

Re: 2012 revisited PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!
Jason,
You are absolutely right! I think most "restorers" give up on locating buckles, original upholstery fabric, and bumper wings.
But for those ever-hopefuls, medallions, Deluxe steering wheels, remote-controlled fender mirrors, Autronic Eye dimmer gadgets etc. do show up on eBay..Bumper wings are the rarest, in my estimation, since they were optional. At least the buckles were standard features of the Sport Fury.

Re: 2012 revisited PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!
Ive got Bumper wings on my 4 dr HT BELVY.........and I have the front bar with the rubber insert like
a Sport Fury on my BELVY coupe which also has rubberized overriders on the rear bar.
Not sure which look I like the best on the 59. Rubber or Wings?

Re: 2012 revisited PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!
Just reporting that there were two front bumper variations...
1) all chromed, no "wings" ( the optional wings would fit this bumper)-
2) the chromed bumper with stainless-framed rubber parking guard bolted on (wings will not fit this).
As for the rear bumper, the optional over-riders came either plain chromed, or with rubber inserts.
As for which looks better, totally subjective

Jason,
If you find the right person to make the buckles I can send you one of both models. There are 2 different buckles used on the Sport Fury.
