Parking Brake light instructions

Post by Denver 59 Fin Convert »

I had previously installed the red parking light reminder light in my car and just came across the installation sheet in case anyone was interested in seeing it.

I really enjoy someone posting this type of information/instructions. This type of information aids in the repair and adjustment of optional equipment. The illustrations help understanding the function as well as mechanics of operation. Well done. P.S. Saved in my files.

Dick, I have an extra red lens and bezel. If you want it...It is yours! I had this bezel and lens for a long time but until I scored a complete kit on ebay, I did not know how the switch was going to be mounted. A regular brake switch or even a door jamb switch from the late 50's thru 70's can be used and a bracket fabed up. I can take some different views of the bracket for you and dimensions of this bracket. The visible part on the car and correct part, is the bezel and lens, How you make it work behind the scenes (dash) no one will see.

The wiring socket/bulb seems to be easy to make up too! I will take some pics of that for you too. I do see these kits for sale several times a year and will keep a look out for one you.

Thanks for the offer John, but I think I'll wait for a kit to show up.
