Back Light (Rear Window) For Sale...
Don't know if anyone is needing this or not, but thought my chances were best here.... A back light (rear window) for a '59 Fury 4-door hardtop, it does have a couple of light scratches that I can barely feel with my fingernail so I don't know if they can be polished out or not....I currently have it listed on Ebay with a starting bid of $100, though it's doesn't look like it's going to sell (2nd time listing it)...If anyone here may be interested in it please feel free to let me know... Thanks much!

I think you'd have a much better chance of getting some interest in this item if you called it what it is, a rear window!!
I had absolutely no idea what you meant by a "back light"!

Bob, this in SAE lingo (official Engineering stuff) that is what it is called. In the 57-58 manual Mopar does call it a rear window.
Kinda like the front & rear valance on our cars is a called an anti gravel pan. A Sway bar is an "anti-Roll bar" . Our Plymouth 57-58 Service manual calls the rear trunk lid a "Deck Lid" but everyone knows it as a Trunk Lid.
Mopar and SAE calls a Drive shaft a "Propeller shaft" in the same 57-58 Manual but we all know it as just a Drive Shaft.

Re: Back Light For Sale...
Sure, as you know I worked for GM, and there we called the steering column the "mast jacket", the dashboard was called the "IP" meaning the instrument panel, the old style no draft window was known as the "CV" window, dont ask me why!
We did call the drive shaft the prop shaft, but the windshield was known as the windshield, and the rear window was called the "rear window" glass!
My point was in regards to the ebay ad, most people would not know what he meant!

Mast Jacket as a steering column? Never would have guessed that one.
But I do agree that 99.9% of the people would not know about a Back Light reference.
