Heavy Lifting
Received the biggest package ever a few weeks ago and with the help of a big backhoe and loading dock at a friends tire store managed to unload a 2000 lb package of 4 post lift, transfer the still immensely heavy pieces to my shop, erect it today and got it lifting. The directions were terrible, ie poor translation from the Chinese by someone who obviously knew nothing about 4 post lifts. Next phase of project is to cut a hole in the attic so i don't wear out my knees, but I think its gonna be great - how us old coots continue working on cars. Think one of my old cars is moving to Switzerland. I'll miss her!!!

Re: Heavy Lifting
Steve, You will love that 4 post lift! I should have bought mine sooner! Would have saved a lot of aggravation on my back doing the convert. I might get a second one for some of my other cars to bring home. Need to broach that with the Queen... To see if she is OK with that...

Re: Heavy Lifting
Hi John - Good luck with the new lift negotiations. This one is a Car Park 8 plus - bought thru Best Buy Automotive Equip and it does seem to be well made albeit lousy directions.
Re: Heavy Lifting
Good news Steve, If I had had a lift when I was young I wouldn't be as old as I am today. Whad he say?

Re: Heavy Lifting
I have some friends (OK they are not friends!) like theirs (Car Park) so you should be good to go with yours! Before you put a car on it. Run the lift up and down a couple times...It helps allow it to move around a bit and get it self spread apart well. Worked well with mine and it did find a good stance by doing so.
