58 Dodge convert windshield fits 59 plym?
Does any one know if a 58 Dodge Convertible windshield fit a 59 Plymouth Convert windshield frame? For some reason I think the 59's are unique to 59's and not to other years..
Just looking to see if it would be a good spare for me...

John, it might fit but would not be correct. In 58 they did not have the bubbletop and the curves are different. I will see if I can find the list of all windshields that will fit and look good.

John,
I found the topic on the Forwardlook Forum http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forum ... =1#M277517
Also read that you have Mike's 58 convertible in your trailer now, that car has a good spare windshield for you
If you don't want to read the whole thread here is the list for 57-59 Mopar windshields:
Imperial : (26"x78") : W465 : 1957-1958
(clear) 1651431
(Solex) 1690871
Sedans / wagons : (24"x74") : W454 : 1957-59 (all)
(clear) 1681706
(Solex) 1775045
Hardtops : (24"x74") : W451 : 1957 (all); 1958 (Plymouth)
(clear) 1681710
(Solex) 1775046
Convertibles : (28"x76") : W453 : 1957-1959 (all)
Hardtops : 1958 (Dodge,DeSoto,Chrysler); 1959 (all)
(clear) 1695690
(Solex) 1759485
The last windshield, W453, is the bubble top unit while the W451 is the flat windshield.

Re: 58 Dodge convert windshield fits 59 plym?
Thanks Ron, I do indeed have Mike's convertible for a short bit. The car was done at the body shop and Mike had not made room for it yet at his house so I offered to go pick it up with my son Jack (the car and body shop was in Arvada already) and store it for a week or so.
The body shop guy needed the room to work on other cars. It helped Mike and the body shop guy out to get it out of there. I did talk to the body shop guy to fix some of the flaws in my paint. (rear brake light area below the trunk and some other small dings that were overlooked before my paint job)
The windshield was one that the body shop owner ordered for Mike's car, but Mike decided to stay with the one installed. So the body shop guy was looking for a way to recover his cost on it.
Thanks for the info on the windshields.
