I know I must annoy some of you. In my life I am always trying to answer people's questions, if I can. In fact I often find myself answering questions asked of OTHER people, and then I get scolded for being a busybody.
I find it frustrating when people ask a question and the posts go off-topic and the original question never gets answered.
I like this group, and don't wish for anyone, especially newcomers, to leave the group frustrated because they can't get a direct answer.
The mystery of the migrating generators remains unsolved!

Roger - Keep it up, we need the answers, I have a daughter that's at least 150 years old, knows everything, when I ask a question and she's around I learned to call out the person's name that I want to answer. She almost explodes because she has the answer too. But this is different, I've received a ton of answers from you for questions never asked besides we expect anyone that knows to chime in and help. I don't know if I'm on the right thread or not but I was watching the Velocity Channel last night (Channel 1022 on U-Verse) and saw the 59 Plymouth go across with a bid of $35,000.00 then it broke to a commercial so I never saw the end of the bidding. I plan on going to www.mecum.com to check it out. They said it was stored in a Garage that developed a roof leak and it had to be repainted in any event it was, as Ed Eckerson Says. BEOOOTUFUL.

Brilliant! I think several of us here on 59 Plymouth, over the years, have seen that video. I remember purchasing the video from Ocean City Videos back in the early '90s. And now it's free for all to see on YouTube. Ah, progress!
I say brilliant, because I personally would never have thought to go back to that video to look for engine colors. Even though the video is Black and White, a person can plainly see the engine block is all silver, with the valve covers perhaps a slightly different shade, maybe grey?

Superb film , watched it all including the others connected with the link. Now all I have to do is build myself a "Time machine" and collect some of those spare parts.
Engine rebuild turning out to be a longer job than anticipated but once it's sorted and back in the Fury I'll attempt to post a picture on the forum.

I bought my first 59 Sport Fury in 1968 or 1969 a nice well maintained high milage unit. The 318 engine,intake, pulleys and bell housing were silver the air cleaner was orange/red like the later 318 engine color.The torque flite transmission was natural cast iron with an aluminum tail housing. Maybe because it was 10 years old, some color fading and rust influenced what i remember. The Sport Fury also had the Bendix instant heat furnace, it didn't work when I purchased it, It took about 20 minutes of inspection and ignitor cleaning and it worked great. Nice option to have here in Colorado. After a bad wreck I started parting it, After a few hours of work..I found out that the engine could not be installed into a 1962 Sport Fury. The bellhousing bolt pattern as well as the crankshaft bolt patterns changed in 1962. At that time I learned a lot of Chrysler engineering had changed even though the basic engine was the same. Being YD&FOC I was willing to spend alot more time to learn.
