2 Dr. HT Windshield Stainless Moulding

Post by Dick Koch »

Need help - The glass company that removed my windshield (out of business now) also removed all the stainless steel trim. The top center piece which is approx. 2" wide is held on by three clips with rubber washers under them and screwed to the roof itself. I did not see this piece removed but I'm assuming the stainless snaps onto the clip. I have tried everthing I know without damaging the stainless steel but can't get it to snap on and how on earth would you ever get it off again. It doesn't slide on from the side because it also screws down on the ends and that recess won't clear the other clips.
I'm stumped,

Dick, I can't help you as I tried it myself a few months ago... but within 2 weeks I'll send you some help, Matthew did it in a heartbeat on my car!

Hi Dick,

He is on route to John Fowlie, I talked with him a few minutes ago while he was standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon. He loves it but the Japanese and German tourists are pretty annoying as he said. He will be making a few more stops along the way, tomorrow night he will be arriving in Las Vegas and if he survives the city of Sin he will be coming to PBI soon  Other stops on his way to John F are Death Vally NP and Yosemite NP and he will also stop in Bishop to meet Neil Vedder (The Bishop from the Forwardlook Forum). After his visit to Big M he will drive to San Fransisco as the last stop on the West coast.

What did he do, "Win the Lottery". What a trip, Yvonne and I plan on doing the same except for the Grand Canyon, did that a few years ago, we would also take in Sequoia NP and the Red Wood NP along with a visit to John Fowlie, Tom Fox and Roger Howard. We will do it driving a Belvie Convertible. God willing.

Dick, put the trim on it. Slide the windshield side in first. Then try to pull it up and snap it on the roof side of the clips.
Yes, it's that easy!

Drove the good old route 66 today. I am in Kingman now and will be going to las Vegas tomorrow.

OK, I'll give it a try, after I finish getting ready for Hurricane Irene.

SNAP, SNAP, SNAP, good to go. Thanks Matthew. Looks like Irene (my grandmother's name) is going to go offshore to the east about 100 mile. Pray that it does.
