Widewall tyres

I am looking into a couple new widewall tyres, they need to have the wide whitewall.
Original tyres were 8.00X14 that shows in the chart should be 205/75-14.

The tyres on the convertible are now bf goodridge silvertown in 225/70-14 if I remember correctly.
One of them recently gave up on the highway and almost blew so not very confident on these.
They are available for $231 each, that is in 205/75-14.

Other option are Diamondback Fury tyres (I like the name!) in 205/75-14.
These are available for $184 each.

Last option that I found so far are Good year Custom super cushion.
These are like the tyres that the 59's were delivered on so that is a big plus.
The other side of these tyres are that these are bias ply.
I found these for $195 in the actuall 8.00X14

Anyone recommend any of these or has other options?
Remember, they have to have the wide whitewall!

I use Diamond Back II It's a Firestone, 2-1/2" wide whitewall, 215/75/14 Radials. They will fit a 5-1/2" rim. Whatever you do make sure they do not send you Master Craft tires, I hade two seperate on my Desoto and two on the Ford Galaxie. The 205 looks to be too skinny.

I bought my tires from Kelsey tire in Missouri, the Goodyear super cushions as the factory would have installed, in 2008 for my '57 Fury. I now have put 30,000 miles on them with no problems. These are bias ply tires, but track darn near as good as radial tires from what I have found. I also bought a set for my '58 Dodge Sierra wagon.

I'm not positive about '59, but the passenger cars all used 7:50x14 tires, while the Fury and station wagons used 8:00x14.

I have heard goor things about the Diamondback tires, but as radials, to me they just do not give the car the right stance. They will handle better, however.

Says:
NOTE: 8.00 x 14 4 ply tyres Are recommended for Convertible and 6 passenger Suburban models, and will be installed at additional costs unless specifically noted otherwise on order.

I do not Matthew, but I do have a old bias spare that may be that size and will check it out. Time to go to Napa Matthew get ready!

Wide white wall tires? I am easily confused. If you have BF Goodrich you are doing well. I have been close to 170 mph on Goodrich tires. I don't think the guy in the In the Vanden Plas was looking at my tires. He only found us back to the resort to ask 'Who the manfacture of my ride was', Ask Deb, or ask John Q. If I might drive a little more agressive than most. Tires over 6 years old should not be used in timed events. P.S. I had to explain Vanden Plas relative to the illicit association to his manufacture. It did feel good to show him old iron still run can run hard.

How disappointing! Those tires had very low miles on them. I will not be recommending them anymore!. I bought them from Coker.

I'll come and check them out.
After Carlisle I'm more of a radial guy as I really noticed the difference now. Earl has bias on his vert.
Roads in the Netherlands are a lot more worse than here and I think I will be all over the road with bias ply tyres.

Good thing is that this is the same as the rest on the car so I only need 1.
