Weird.... I understood what Dick was saying....

The shroud on this one seems to be taller at the top then the bottom of the hood with a reverse forward slant. Or is it just the way the mirror is sitting in it?

On the back side (the part that faces the front of the car) does this area have an inner circle groove in it? Tom's and Matthews does not have it and wondered if yours is a soft smooth cone shape too! I think the inner grove vesion was a early 60's version like Matthew and Roger stated I have.

I will buy Matthews extra one when he finish's Holidaying in the US of A.

The back side of the surround of the glass that had the groove in it was the 1960 model

Information taken from the 1959 Mopar Passenger Parts Book, p. 1-7

Part No. 1772 447 fendermount single strut rear view mirror
" ..... 1901 706 remote control mirror
"..... 1839 852 Hooded type mirror
" .... 1773 071 Twin Strut

"..... 2084 545 Package- Remote control mirror
"..... 2084 546 Package- passenger side to match 545

I'm not sure how to decipher this. :?

I'll take some more pictures of the 59 Plymouth and the 60 Desoto.

OK, pitchuhs of the mirrors on the green 59 Ply and the white 60 Desoto. They look to be the same mirrors. The mirrors on my red and whits SF are the same also. The mirror on the Desoto has the hood on the left because the adjustment wires are twisted and this is the only way I can adjust it from inside the car. I will fix soon but its not an easy fix.
