What is the correct hooded mirrors for a 59 Plymouth?
I have a collection of 5 hooded mirrors and would like a close up of what is correct and what is not for our 59's. I appreciate any pictures of what is correct. My car had a remote mirror but was missing when I got the car.

Re: What is the correct hooded mirrors for a 59 Plymouth?
Ok, now that my spelling is corrected we can continue...
Here are two of my semi-hooded mirrors that I have. Can't locate right now the other two, but I know one of the missing two is a full hooded but with a broken mirror (easy fix)
What years do these go to? I think the mirror on the right is a non-mopar aftermarket mirror...

The one on the left looks closest to correct, but I dont think either is exactly right. have a look at Showcase, Sport Fury, Tony diCenso..

Thanks Roger! I will look at Tony's car. You never know if the mirrors on someones car is correct or not.

Re: What is the correct hooded mirrors for a 59 Plymouth?
Take my opinion with a grain of salt, please! I can't really see all sides of the mirror on the left, which most ressembles what I was told (and what I've seen on other cars over the years) is correct. I 'm sure Tom and Matthew can provide some good pics, and some sort of proof of what's correct.

I dohave about 60 pictures of Tom Fox's car and I believe one of them was the mirror(s). I will review that one for a close up view of a hooded mirror.

Personally, the fight has temporarily gone out of me...I don't know where to begin looking for the "correct" mirrors, if you don't have them already. I guess I'd start at Big M.
I sold my collection to Bo Malefors long ago.
Can you dig up that contact for the Rhode Island car?

Roger, I am going thru my old ebay purchases to see if I have anything about the guy I had purchased the parts from. I will keep digging...

First be sure your mirrors aren't the real deal, then if you have to, start looking for parts and parts cars.
It's Friday, maybe the Keijs and Tom (and anybody else who can get to their cars in this weather) will post some pics of their fender mirrors.

Re: What is the correct hooded mirrors for a 59 Plymouth?
Now that you have these photos, do you agree with me that your mirrors do not ressemble the "correct" mirrors?
Tom's mirrors, as an example, have that full circular shroud, with an extra bit on top for glare reduction.
I didn't see that feature on your mirrors. And the "correct" mirror is just more substantial........
My guess is your mirrors are early 1960's. Is one of them square?
