Well, after two days of postponements, it looks like my daughter Emily is finally on her way to invade the Keij household and enjoy their hospitality. I snapped a pic as she entered security...
Leaving the airport and crossing the bridge, I snapped this pic through the dirty window. It's hard to make it out, but the line is so long for Southwest Airlines that it snakes out of the terminal and onto the sidewalk - I've never seen anything like it.
Folks are really desperate here - I'm so glad she was able to get on a flight. And grateful to the Keijs, that they've taken two more days of vacation so Emily can extend her stay! Some of the nicest folks I've ever met, I've met right here.
I just arrived home and it looks like we are ready to welcome her, hope she finds that one cab driver who speaks English
Matthew and I are getting up early to drive to the heart of Belgium to pick her up, then it'll be just half an hour before we are back in The Netherlands. We will make some pictures when she arrives (and if we can find her).
Dan, enjoy your two quiet weeks, she'll be back before you know it!
Well we did find her and she had a good flight. She was tired but still too fast to take a picture....
Today she started her second year in the Netherlands They had plans for the fireworks at the beach but unlike Dick Koch's beaches it was freezing cold here so they decided to go to Matthew's brother for a New Years party and are sleeping over.
