Oil for dist. & Gen

Post by Oldschoolcarguy »

Good day!

What type of oil should I be putting in the little oiler tubes to the distributor and generator?

Thanks

I use the same oil I use in the engine. Any good grade oil works.

Information from the Lubrication Chart on p. 496 the 1957-8 Plymouth Service Manual:
For the generator and distributor,... SAE 10W.
Speed takes "speedometer oil"
The cable takes "speedo cable lube".
Power steering uses Type A tranny fluid.
..my 2 cents... :)
