Hope all is well as can be this week as we all get ready for the Holidays! Been saving this old advertisment for Plymouth's that Norman Rockwell did for Chrysler in the early 50's but think it is timeless for our 59 Plymouth's as well.(and it has a Beagle in it too!)
Thanks Dan, the conversion to a jpeg is what I wanted to do but had a problem in doing so. Let me know in an email or PM how you did the conversion from a .pdf for future "mischief"
I had purchased two of these print ads during the year, one large and one medium and have waited and waited to post it. They are great framed too! I knew you and I would love the beagle in it and the simple Christmas family visit scene. And to have Norman Rockwell make it was extra special.
Hope all others will enjoy the scene it depicts and the Plymouth message too!

Sure! Next to the top row of function keys - "F12" to be specific - there's a "Print Screen" button. If you view an image on your screen and hit that button, it goes into the so-called "Paste Buffer". Open up your favorite image manipulation program - Photoshop, Microsoft Paint, Gimp (if you're a Ubuntu techie like me) - and "Ctrl-V" the image in (or select "Paste" from the program menu). Crop it, save as a jpeg, and you're done! D*mn... While I was typing this, Bode ate another ornament...
I will re-read your response a few times and try it. Glad there are people like you around!
Put mustard on the lower ornaments and that will keep Bode from chewing them. Worked well on my brothers thumb when he was sucking it so much as a kid, Should work on ornaments too!
"Ho! Ho! Ho! You will put your eye out kid!" (from my favorite Christmas movie.."A Christmas Story"
cool fact....the actress who played Zuzu lives in Seattle these days.,
Dan's alteration of the vintage ad tops all! John, you have some wild ideas!
Thank you for the laughs, guys
A Merry Christmas to all of you! Sorry but I don't have any old pictures or printed ads from me but I did my best. First we shoveled some snow to be able to park the car and wrote my message on the hood. The car has never been this dirty and it never will be again...
Wow! Look at that mountain of snow! Is that a "snow-dike"? How long did it take you to shovel all that? At least it isn't raining...
A low-tech delivery of holiday wishes, from some hi-energy folks!
I wish I could have gifted you a new convertible top lift cylinder, or steering drag arm, or a rebuilt p/s pump.
Here's wishing you warmer days.
We did not shovel at all, well just a little to get from the garage to the street. But they did a lot in the parking lot last week and all the snow was on that dike.
The hardtop is so dirty because we did so much work in the garage including some renovation of the floor, it was very dusty.
We do have some good news about the convertible top today, Matthew lowered the top and it is at the right level now! It seems that the broken linkage kept the top up too high. At first I thought that it was because of the missing parts but on the other side it was just as low. I think Matthew found the solution without searching
Now let's hope for some nice weather this summer and we will be all over Europe with both cars.
And beside a Merry Christmas we already wish you a very healthy and prosperous 2011!
matthew reported the passenger-side lift cylinder has been leaking.
I wonder now if somehow I did not "charge" or bleed the system when I first installed them, leading to a slow operation, failure to fully fold, and stress on the system..
We will probably never know for sure, but John Q take note, for when you get to the first start up your cvt top!
My guess is that the joint was not working well and as a result it made the cylinder work too hard. And when folding down it got stuck because it was bent a little. The other side is lubricated now and it folds better and further than it used to. I will post a picture in the other forum as this has nothing to do with Merry Christmas, sorry guys
