Re: Motor mounts source
Thanks, John. They do have one but don't know yet if the rubber part is useable. Didn't find any on Ebay yet. Ron

Anyone know where I can get a passenger side license plate light assembly for my 59 Suburban? I found one and paid for it but they now cannot find it. Thanks, Ron

Re: brakes for 59 blevedere
Just saw your post, Jean. You can probably get them through your local NAPA store. I have new rears that I don't need because I converted to disc brakes on all four corners of my '59 Suburban. You can have them cheap if you can't find them through a source near you. Ron

Re: de-coding ID tags
Hey Roger, I found the site about production numbers........http://www.turbinecar.com/misc/59-65VIN.pdf I mistated a bit......the sequential production numbers were PLANT specific. So I guess that would mean your Belvedere Cvt was the 13,862nd Plymouth produced at the Evansville Assembly Plant. That...

Re: de-coding ID tags
I just read today that in 1959 the sequential production number for Plymouths through 1959 were NOT model specific. So, if that's right, then your Belvedere is the 13,862nd Plymouth of any model that was produced in 1959. All Plymouth sequential production numbers started with "1" except f...

What master cylinder will work for discs?
Okay, so now that I have front AND rear disc brakes on my 59 Suburban.......I think I need a larger master cylinder for larger fluid volume. I'd prefer to find a four bolt so I won't need to make an adapter plate. Anyone have a recommendation of which master cylinder to use? Vendor and part number t...

Re: Secretary of the Interior
Ooops.....sorry, Faulkner. Guess I wasn't paying attention as I explained what I did for the TOP of the dash pad fasteners. I actually found some "similar" clips at a local auto parts store that only needed a little trimming to replace the old ones. Ron

Re: Secretary of the Interior
I fabricated the top steel strip from strapping material and drilled holes to match the old strip. Then I replaced the old fasteners with new ones that had a similar clip and threaded "bolt" type attachment. Of course, it's easier to get it all on with the dash out (which I did when I rewi...

Re: Secretary of the Interior
Yup, Tomf has your answer to get the cig lighter out. Might help to spray some WD40 to the back side under the dash as they can get rusty or just plain tough to get starting to UN screw. Good idea to lube it up when you put it back in too. Ron
