I think the Subject says it all. any color any options.
The body would have to be straight and relatively rust free.
From a #1 to a #4 restorable vehicle.

OK, so I'm trying to jack up the 59 Forum stats. So, sue me!

Here's a question Ed put to the mailing list, with my reply:

To: 59PLYMOUTH@59SPORTFURY.NET
Subject: [59plymouth] QUANTITY BUILT QUESTION

Hello Group

Concerning the 59 SPORT FURY H/T and CONVERT,,,,,does anyone have a true
quantity (or close to it)
of how many had the 'GOLDEN COMMANDO' option out of the total of almost
24,000 built??

Does anyone know of ANY 59 BELVEDERE CONVERTS with the Commando option.
I have never heard of one.

Just fishing around for background info.

Thank you

Ed,

From Jim Benjaminson's book (Plymouth 1946-1959), p. 159:

"V-8 buyers had several choices [for 1959] -- a 230 hp 318ci with 2bl carb,
a 260hp 318ci with 4bl carb and a 305hp 361ci 4bl V-8. Engine prefix codes:
MD2 for the small V-8, MD3 for the 361. Engine serial numbers not
available."

I don't know if that last statement means production figures are not
available, either. I don't see them elsewhere in the book. I'm copying Jim
here in case he has something to add, I'm also copying Robert Hinds ('59
Plymouth technical advisor for POC) in case he wishes to comment. I note
here that you also have a question about Golden Commandos in Belvedere
convertibles.

(Jim, Bob -- this question comes from a member of the mailing list for
www.59sportfury.net.)

Thanks
Dan
