59 fury progress
59 fury progress
Here's where we are on the Fury re-do that began in December of 2013. Still short a windshield, steering column, exhaust system.
The interior is finished and ready to install, once all the little mechanical "thingies" get re-attached. The 383 engine and rear axle are from a '68 Road Runner, the Torqueflite is from a 63 Chrysler 300 non-letter. Front brakes are now discs. Still working on the headliner, and engineering a parking brake mechanism along with a factory-looking way to make the PARK function work. A/C will go in after we get the thing running.
Note: I used the original shift cable from the '63--it hooked easily to the 59 shift buttons. BUT, I just noticed the 63 shift panel and the 59 panel have their "D" and "R" buttons reversed. Am I going to have a problem with this? Thanks for your advice.
