Have a 59 sport fury., have the gas tank mostly out., but can't get the filler neck disconnected from the tank to drop the tank out...is there a clip or something holding the long filler neck into the tank down where it goes into the tank?

Thanks.< Guy

Guy - There is no clip or anything holding the tube in the tank. There is an O rong that fits in the tank opening and the tube slides into the O ring to stop any gas leakage. If you can't twist the tube at the top without messing it up to brake it loose at the O ring you can get to the bottom of the tube where it enters the gas tank. One of those rubber strap wrenches works real good to give it a twist and break it loose. then it comes out easily.

OK., cool., it looked like just a seal., but wasn't sure...I bought a new tank., so not sure if that seal comes with>,..so will try and take the old one out without messing it up.....will spray some lube on it tonight and let it sit over night and try it tomorrow.

Thanks., Guy

Ancient Chinese secret Dick to my searches. I just type in "59 Plymouth" in E bay motors and go thru the 1000 plus hits! Just mindless searching...

I know one vendor in Michigan always has these for sale, I will search his current auctions to see if he is selling them right now. If not I will send him and email if he has some left.
