Front lights

I've had some of the front wiring harness replaced due to brittle insulation. I notice that the front sidelights switch off when I go to the main lamps. Is this correct ? The direction indicators work okay. It's been some time since the car was running and my memory has failed me. Thanks in advance Guy

Thanks for the confirmation Roger, I can rest easy on that one. This particular list of jobs is about complete , I'll get some pictures of the finished article and share them with the forum. Regards

In the US, we used to call them parking lights, and at one time it was illegal to drive with only them on.
My 2000 Dodge truck has parking lights, also has fog lights, which I guess are properly driving lights which used to be called fog lights which in the expensive new cars seem to be on all the time because they are controlled by sensors...
