Anyone know what this is?

Is this a car or a trailer? Anyone know what the rest of this looks like?
I sure looks like a 59 tailfin! My guess is a trailer. Sure wish I had the complete picture.

Hi Curt,

It isn't the same trailer (or he repainted it) but this is the kind of trailer you like to see I guess.

It looks like a tire and wheel has been laid up against a 59 quarter panel for some photo shoot, There is no wheel well indicated in the background and the tire far side stops before the sheet metal of the quarter begins. Interesting photo none the less...

Now the hunt begins to find the original post where this was displayed.

However I have two more photos to share today.
A 59 in Ohio - I believe - but might be Indiana plates - belong to anyone here?

Do you own me?

Second is a little off topic humor but does contain a FORWARD LOOK car - any guesses?

Dan - this is no lazy dog!

no lazy dog here!

Stay tuned as I am sure there are other 59's on the web waiting to be discovered. Anyone else care to post some?

Thanks,
Curt

Fershur! Actually, that's a role reversal with me and Bailey. When I take him for a "sniff", he's the pole, and I'm the dog!

Great picture dan.

Here is the link and also a photoshop version. This site is not appropriate for the yunggin's - it does contain some pin up type models!

I don't think I am a member so I could not pursue the origin of the photo.

Still looks like a trailer to me with the tailights low on the body.

The color really adds to the picture.

Faulkner just contacted me on the HAMB, I took those pictures at the Lone star Round up show in Austin TX. The car will be on the cover of the new Rod & Custom.

Way cool, Dreadman! Do you have contact info for the owner? We want him/her to be an honorary member! :D

Here's what Dreadman had to say:
his name is Aaron Grote, he is from Illinois, he goes by the name of Plowboy on the HAMB, he hand builds the wildest creations ala Ed Roth.
This particular creation goes by the name of "Atomic Punk". Here are some more pix along the way, from the HAMB website:

Dan, Dick and All,

Thanks for solving the mystery. I am glad he kept the 59 fin and trim and fender lines true to 59. I see it is even hemi powered.

The HAMB is a very active site, with tons of great pictures - but I must admit I am turned off by excessive use of one four letter word (F***).

It does have great event coverage with lots of pictures.

Surf at your own risk.

Curt

Thanks again I really enjoyed this thread!

Yep, I am the guy that built that car. I figured that I would be chastised on this board for cutting up a 59 Plymouth! ha ha ha If it makes you feel any better it wasn't in that great of shape. There wasn't a whole lot of tin left holding the rear of the car together, but the fins were good and that is all I needed....well that and the headlight buckets.

There are a few other parts on the thing though. The rear roll pan is the hood from a 59 Chevy truck narrowed 12 inches through each eyebrow. The cowl area was hand built and the lower sheetmetal that replaced the rusty wheelwell openings was the roof from a 54 Oldsmobile.

The Grille is hand built out of steel and I used the stock headlight buckets and Aluminum trim.

Chris Casney's pics are a lot better than mine. I can't figure out how to add pics on here, but you can see more pics of this car and some of my other junk at my website www.groterodshop.com or my myspace page www.myspace.com/plowboy

Just to finish out this thread, here is the magazine cover for "Plowboy's" car called the "Atomic Punk".

One wild looking ride with '59 Plymouth roots!

Great job on being published Aaron!
