The Winter of My Discontent...

Post by Faulkner »

...has given way to the Spring of my Contentment! It was a tumultuous winter, but I've landed on my feet -- and things are settling down.

No, the siding hasn't arrived yet, but otherwise the garage is in good shape -- door and all. Today, after months of dusty neglect, Faulkner got a bath:

Then, off to top off the tank (the purveyor was the source of the previous major ecological disaster, not the current):

Faulkner's running great! Although, admittedly, there's a few tiny "bumps" now appearing under the inexpensive paint job -- surface rust, no doubt, trying to find its way to the surface. Still a great looking twenty-footer! And maybe there's a Keij-style rehab in Faulkner's future -- but not for now.

Ron, you asked what do we need to do to get ready for Carlisle. With John's help, we'll:

Install the flocked roof rail weatherstripping (on order with Gary Goers)
Secure the sill moldings
Install the Fury emblems
Rework, polish, install the left rear trim moldings
install the hood and deck moldings
Install the MP3 amplifier
...and whatever Matthew has on his list for us to do. Are you sure you can't smuggle him into a suitcase? 8)

Getting Matthew in the suitcase is possible I guess but even with a crash diet I can't get his weight under 51 lbs before July 2nd

If you have the clips it will be a piece of cake to get the moldings on and I have seen Matthew polishing trim and it looks real easy. Installing the amplifier is a piece of cake, can be done in 10 minutes. My e-brake cable needs tightening too so I can practise on my car before we touch Faulkner 8)
