The Fury

Some of you already knew my Fury had found his way home as it is in our garage now.
As seeing the progress of my dad's Sport Fury it was time to make a start with the Fury.

I go some tools at the hardware store and gave it my best shot as I want to do as much as I can myself on this car.
I see it as a learning project after work.

Yes, it is a 59 Fury!

It also got it's Fury logo back for a few minutes

Well, it has been ? two years ? since you bought this car, and hauled it out of a underground garage..You had someone do some metal wrok on it then, correct? (I should probably find your posts in the Archives). I don't remember it looking quite this "distressed".
ANyway, you are back at it once again. Starting out is always slow-

Made a little bit of progress today, a friend visited me so more talking than working.
I've got the whole weekend to work on the Fury. Plan is to get the lower parts done and in the length of the fin.

Progress from today:

It's already primed, another update tomorrow!!!

It was parked there in 2006, so it it 3 years.

A quick update! The day isn't over yet!. Just taking a little break

This is how I work, marking the things I want to finish today (actually I wanted this done yesterday)

And just an extra parts, everything I do more today is extra

Matthew, have you ever considered using chemical paint strippers to do this job?

I have found them to work the best, with least possible damage to the body panels. ---John

Roger, all the pics can be found in the showcase on the homepage!

John, I used it but the paint strippers we can get aren't the best and they only do the paint. I wanna get rid of everything as I found a pretty good layer of bondo on the lower part of the body.

What are you attempting to do here? Do not remove paint with a grinder! this is rule no1!
Please use paint stripper its much better for the car, if you want to sand the paint off use a RANDOM ORBITAL SANDER

Work a pannel at a time so the overall job does not get too daunting ok, do not remove rotten metal before forming a new piece up first or repacement is found. Ok matthew?

Matthew, Any more pictures of your progress on your Fury? I was just reviewing what you had done in February of this year but noticed no new posts since then.
Are you in need of any parts for your car that your Dad doesn't have extra's of? We all have stashes of parts we can donate to a worthy cause... You!

I second that! In fact, I have two emergency brake cables for you, Matthew -- you can get the car on the road without worrying first about the wheel brakes!

No updates yet! I've worked on my dads car and some rims for my daily driver.

There is still a lot to do!
I don't know about the parts, my dad is using a lot from this one now

Maybe a new trunk floor?

the one in it is useless, doesn't look very good

A worth while project for sure. Be nice if you could make it into a Sport Fury, although complete sets of trim is hard to come by.
