59" Savoy interior

Post by wipe »

Hello! I recently found this forum, and good for me, because in Finland there is not so many 59" Plymouth forums :)

I am just starting to renewing my Savoys interior and trying to get it look so original as possible. Does anyone have any pictures or links of 59" 2D Savoys interior? First I am going to fix up door panels, seats can maybe wait to next summer.

I assume that original panels are twocolored with somekind of figure at the middle of doorpanel...

Here is starting situlation: http://users.utu.fi/vipeas/Dart/Savoy/sisusta2.jpg

Hello,

I don't know if you want it a 100% original or not, but this hint might help you for a reasonable price. They have more in stock.

Hello, and thanks to Dan helping me with my avatar.

I didnt even though to purchase things like that from Ebay...
However, Im still planning to do those myself. If someone knows is 2d interior similar as in 4d models? it would help to get things forward, or picture from 59" 2doors interior would be more than great.

Just another site that you can have a conversation with regarding door panels and seat covers.

I am not sure why others have not suggested this site but I have seen it recommended before on this forum:

www.smsautofabrics.com

I have not had any dealings with this company.

My two door post savoy had two tone gray door panels - I am sorry no pictures at this time. The seats were also a two tone gray vinyl material.

Are you sure you wish to change the car back to all original interior? Is the rest of the car all original? I thought I noticed you have a body matching color on the dash which is not original.

Actually that crushed velvet doesnt look too bad,its a 1970s look but also could considered a "mild custom" look as well.

Existing velvet interior is in suitable good condition. The main reason why I im gonna renew it is because athmosphere in cabin is too musty. Everything is covered by velvet, including sunshields and roof draping.

So the ambience is like in smoking saloon, when sitting in car

I know the dash is painted in same tone with car, same as couple mouldings and the ventilation adjusters are not originals. So the meaning is make this look more original looking, not perfect.

Here's a link to 59 Savoy door panels on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopar-59 ... 3899QQrdZ1

Unfortunately they are for a 4dr but they sure look original and maybe the pictures will be a help for you.

I agree, that looks great. I'd like to know if they have our pattern too Roger, but I guess that would be too good to be true.

Hi everybody - When I got my first old car, the 60 desoto, I was curious about upholstery material so I called SMS and gave them basis information about the car, yr, color, colors of upholstery, etc. about a week later I receive in the mail 3 samples of material, they were exact, even the brocade material. Since then I have gotten the red and white and the green and white cloth material and matching Vynel for my 59 Sport Furys. The material was ferfect and I am very pleased. Give them a call or send them samples explain what you have and they can probably help you. I thing they also redo door panels, I know JUST DASHES will also do door panels.
