mysterious wire in water jacket

I think the passenger side head has a parasite. :o Does anyone know what this is or if it needs to be removed?

I've run across those before. It was something left over from the casting process, if I recall correctly.

Yes, in the lost sand process of casting, there would be use of wired to knock out any pockets of casting sand that did not pop or shaken out after casting. They did this in the 70's still when I worked at Mound Road Engine to get the last of the sand out. Sometime the wire broke and they just left it there..

OK to remove for sure.
