brake problem

Post by martin59 »

my brakes work fine but if I let my car sit for a few days the petal goes to the floor then I pump it and its fine again. I have no booster so what else could it be did the brake petal have a spring down there to hold it from slowly settling to the floor.

Martin - If you are loseing your pedal you should be losing brake fluid also. Have you checked the master cylinder?????

If you are not losing fluid, the master cylinder would be the primary suspect.

Sorry to say, but if your pedal loses "resistance" over time, the master cylinder is leaking internally. Yes, you have a new one, but I will say it is no good...gert another one..
