Bypass Oil Filter Lines

Post by LeBay_59 »

I have one last question for now to post here in tech support:

What are the proper sized oil lines for the bypass oil filter on the straight sixes? Both of mine to and from the filter are 5/16" brake lines, this seems a bit small to me. Does anyone know the correct size or is this in fact correct?? Any help appreciated.

According to the Parts Book, it is 3/16"!
Also, according to the Parts Book, oil filters were optional on the sixes. :o

I am delighted my info has helped you.
In the Book, there is one other schematic of an oil filter- it shows the same 3/16" lines. To us that seems crazy.
