Looks like a great show on Grosse Ile (Ile is prounounced "eel", means Island in French) It is downriver in Detroit, smack dab in the middle of the Detroit River.
Your car shows well in it, Love the 47 Chrysler T & C! Dream car someday to have one.
Did you cruise your car in the Woodward Ave Dream Cruise this year?
Thanks, the car got a lot of looks. I did not do the dream cruise. Waaayy to many folks for my likin'. We have our own Downriver Cruise that is big enough for me. I just can;t stand all the folks in thier everyday cars weaving in and out all over just to get to a store or something knowin all along that the cruise is going on. I can only take so much.
I have heard similar comments from some of my old GP friends who go. I wonder if there are sections of Woodward that are better then others to cruise in or do you think the whole avenue is bad? Of course your cruise sounds good too!
I would like to take my 59 back there next summer to cruise around in. I would trailer it out to speed up the time to get there and back.
Yea, I don't know. I do know the cruise down here has the more"hot" spots where the people gather in greater numbers so cars seem to loop that more. That is enough for me. I bought the car to enjoy, not to get another hobby via joining clubs etc. I have the boat club. That is enough. Cars are a hobby, but clubs can take over your life. Just ask me, I know. Just spent 4 years going through the ranks at the boat club to be commodore. Enough is enough. Man has to know his limitations......
oh they are the sponsors of the carshow. i went there and the cars are all awesome! i swear to buy those similar parts at auto parts store. but do you guys know if http://www.drivewire.com/part/engine-ti ... tensioner/ is a good store? need some timing belt for my car. any response would be highly appreciated. thanks a lot.
Only 59 Plymouth again this year. She looks good from 30 feet and at the right angle LOL. Was a beautiful day, had 284 cars, close to 50 motorcycles and some 14 classic boats. Always a nice show, and the folks like coming down to our club as most get to sit on lawn with a nice view of Lake Erie and southern Detroit River. Sure beats a parking lot.
