NOS windows

Post by Donny »

Recently got my '59 Plymouth Belvedere 2 DR HT out of the body shop after an unfortunate incident in Montana. Due to some sanding there are scuff marks on the rear quarter windows. I would like to replace these with NOS windows to keep the car in it's original condition. Can anyone help me find a supplier? Thanks Don.

Have not seen any NOS quarter windows on E-bay over the years. Either clear or tinted Solex. Unless you are going for a Concours class of car and need NOS and the Glass MFG small mark of production (Mfr/Date coded etchings), I would go to your local Automotive Glass shops in your town and have them cut the flat glass for you to fit your quarter window frames. They can do tinted or clear for you.

Since you have the actual glass intact, that would make an excellent template. I have seen some vendors on ebay that have for sale the complete side glass kits for our cars that are re-productions. But they probably go to their local glass vendor and have it cut for them too. and then package it for sale on E-bay

I will keep an eye out for any NOS on ebay for you.

I've got a pair of clear windows but the shipping would kill you.
He news the clear glass if anybody wants to know.

Donny, email me directly at matthewkeij@gmail.com. I can't send back an email as it doesn't have your email address. Got a couple of 59 questions.

Shipping... Killing? If you want NOS It is the price you pay to play. I found out insurance companys would not pay current NOS prices for replacement parts.. The hard way. I did have proof I had NOS parts installed and won a exagerated claim suit against SF.

Pursue modern flat glass from your local auto glass shop, or contact Big M Auto in Williams, CA. and request good "used" glass.

Donny needs quarter windows for his 2 door hardtop. Any donor car must also be a 2HT.
I think Dick had in mind another poster who was working on a 4-door sedan.
