Re: repaint!
Hi Ron, It’s even less than 10 mpg, it’s about 8 mph. Meanwhile I have adjusted the float level and next week I get a new set of metering rods and jets. If it still won’t work, then I’ll give up – no kidding now! I have some tar pads on the floor. For the roof I ripped the old pads out and glued a n...

Re: Secretary of the Interior
Here's a deal for you -- send me the plastic piece (instead of making me come to get it), and I'll write off the distributor shipping charges. Howzat? No deal Dan, I'll pay the shipping for my items. The part goes out as soon as I have a little box. Another tip: If you find somebody in your area wh...

Re: Secretary of the Interior
Hi Lazy!!! Secretary  - anything else that you are missing? A Cuban cigar and a drink or so? The time you are thinking about taking the dashboard out is longer than it takes to remove it! It’s easy and you have already done ¾ of the work. Why quitting now? From what I see on the picture you can...
Re: repaint!
Hi Ron, 361 is running. Unfortunately the engine takes about 25 l/100. I’m waiting now for new carburettor jets and metering rods. I still owe the members here a little movie. I’ll do it when I’m satisfied. Here the pictures: I used 3M double side adhesive band for automotive trims. Glued it to the ...

Re: repaint!
Ron and Matthew, I haven’t been here for a long while. As you are doing a fundamental intervention allow me to make a suggestion: When you put the side trim on again the use a M3 double side adhesive in order to avoid that metal to metal contact. Even with good clips on the side trim it's moving a l...

Re: 361 - Project
Thanks Dick, that definitely helps. I have bought the 1381A kit for my 318 but never installed it because then appeared the oportunity with the 361. The 1381A kit does not fit on BB distributor - I´ve tried that. But I´ll buy the 1382 and see if it fits on my single point dizzy. If yes - ok, if not ...

Re: 361 - Project
Thanks Roger,
I also think that a single point should work. I still have some doubt´s, but I think if you take a douple point distributor and put a Pertronix kit in it then you have also a single ignition. Isn´t it so? Dick should know that!

Re: 361 - Project
Hello fellows, Just want to keep you posted about the progress. I promised to post a little movie but had some setbacks during the last days. One was that the engine had severe heat problems. For at least that’s what I thought. The new aluminium Water pump has the smaller sending unit and this one d...

Re: Carlisle 2008
Hi Dan, my private Carlisle ran, let’s say not perfect, but “ok”. See downstairs in: http://www.59plymouth.net/59forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=990&p=5850#p5850 I wished some guys of you would have been here for this event. Doing this alone is not even half the fun it should be. I had cool beer, ...

Re: 361 - Project
Sorry Folks no pictures today – but an update: Last Saturday I’ve tried to start the 361 the very first time. I checked the oil and water then I cranked the engine a couple times to get the oil pressure up. When finally the control light in the dashboard turned off, I placed a 5 litre canister under...

Look, look Curt! Do you realise what you have technically done?
For figuring out the problem and fixing a fuel pump you need to fly inn a Dutch crew of mechanics PLUS supervisor.

Re: Tom Fox's Road Trip 08
Hi Tom and Merle,
thanks for the great pictures. Too bad that I can't come and join you this year, but maybe you have another car and show up next year for the 50st aniversary?
I wish you all a great time!

- here the right tube is already in place
- the left side is much more complicate due to the Power Steering Unit, but we got it JUST PERFECT
- and here the Smitty’s. I really hope that they are not too loud. We will see in the very near future.
