Re: 1959 plymouth sport fury interior
Hi Dick. I have read your posts on your convertible restoration quite extensively and will be referring to it as I go along. You did a great job in an incredibly short time. Thanks again John

Re: 1959 plymouth sport fury interior
Hi Dick and Matthew. I never knew Newark built convertibles but there is lots I don't know about these cars. My car is an Evansville (253#) built car and therefor has no data plate. I wanted to contact SMS auto fabrics to have them send me vinyl samples and was wanting to include an interior code. T...

Re: 1959 plymouth sport fury interior
Hi Dick Thanks for the reply. Are you saying that you restored a 59 plymouth convertible and it had a body tag on the firewall with the interior code on it. Most 59 plymouths did have this tag but I was under the impression that all 59 plymouth convertibles were built in Evansville and Evansville di...

1959 plymouth sport fury interior
Hi. Does anyone have the interior code for a 1959 sport fury convertible. The car has cloth and vinyl swivel seats in blue. The convertibles were built in Evansville and Evansville cars did not get a body tag. I need the interior code to try to source vinyl for my top boot. Thanks John

Re: Convertible top colors
Thanks Matthew. The top colors are what I was looking for. I was wanting a blue top on a powder blue car and it is nice to know that blue was an option. Now to find a blue that I like. John

Re: Convertible top colors
Hi Dick
The colour I was looking for was blue. I see in the showcase that Russell Housen of Palm Beach FL has a blue top that he had installed. Is there any way to contact him? John

Re: Rt front brake
Hi. It is good to hear that the original set up can work well and that I am not dreaming. Not only are the cylinders different from single to triple platform brakes. The shoes, return springs, hold down springs, shoe supports are all different. The differences are small enough that parts can be mist...

Re: Rt front brake
Hi Steve I have to say I have heard that many times. There is absolutely nothing wrong with converting to disc brakes but I don't want to at this time. The first car I bought when I was 17 years old was a 1959 Plymouth. I drove it hard for about 40000 miles. I never did anything to the brakes and do...

Re: Rt front brake
IMG_0728.JPG Hi RickyMopar, Thanks for the response. No, I never did get any parts and am not sure what I want or what to do. I am attaching a picture of the single platform left front brake that I was trying to match on the right. It has irregularities that are not normally found on single platfor...
