Re: Can't get'er started

5-4-3-2-1-Ignition-Blast Off!!!! I got the 59 fired last night! Starting fluid was the key this time. Now I have a 2,000 RPM idle speed that I can't seem to adjust - it must be in the throttle linkage as the idle screw makes no difference! The car still does not start easily after it was running - c...

Re: Yes, we were hacked again

Hi Dan,

Yes Better - I like the new look. It may take a bit of getting used to, but it appears a little easier to me.
The reply box is larger and easier to read and even the avatars are larger!!!

Thanks for all your efforts Dan!

Hi Roger, Thanks for the response. I had the gas tank restored by the RENU process and the filter was replaced at that time. I think that the fuel pump lost its prime for sure - so pouring some gas back down the delivery tube may be the answer. You are also correct that the weather has put a damper ...

What I meant to say is that we have been dumping fuel down the carb a bit at a time to get the car to fire and hopefully draw enough vaccum to get the carb filled by the fuel pump. It has always fired in the past by dumping fuel in the carb - this time we get nothing at all - except the 1st try. Tha...

Thanks Dan I will add that to my list of to do's. It seems it is always 1 step forward - two steps back for me. I also ordered a 1" spacer block made by Mr Gasket for carb to intake for heat problems in the past. I found it cheapest at Amazon.com - Go figure! I also get free shipping from them ...

Can't get'er started

Well the 600 Edelbrock is now installed on my 1976 - 318 and it will not start. I have a ASCE mechanic working on the car and he believes I am lacking vaccum because of sitting so long (over 1 year and not being started). We added some oil to the cylinders and down the intake. We used gasoline down ...

John,

Great advice - I will pass it along.

They are feeling the same way that the rear end changes should not be causing this vibration.

Thanks,

Curt

Vibrations

I am asking this question for a friend and hope someone can weigh in with possible solutions. The car: 1971 Plymouth Satelite, built 360, 904 transmission, 8 1/4 stock housing with new Sure Grip Posi unit, with 3:55 gears. Rear was assembled by experienced Mopar technician. The rear makes no noises,...

Wow Stefan - what a complete description of replacing a headliner in a hardtop car. My headliner is original and still intact (although a little dry to the touch). I have not attempted to have it replaced as I have a sedan that requires the rear window to be removed and the headliner tucked under th...

You could add one more Don't. Don't tell anyone how much work you went through just to find a simple wiring fix! I drive a 2002 Ford E-150 with Wheelchair Lift. The van had 1,000 miles when I purchased it in 2003 and had a lift that would work sometimes and not others. I spent $900 and several weeks...

Ron, I will certainly save the vest for Marjo. Should I send it to you now or do you want hand delivery in Carlisle this July? Dan may know if this will fit Marjo or not - but it is very lightweight and can be worn unbuttoned so that should fit Marjo. It is unworn (new) and in my wife's closet for s...

Dan and Ron, Count me in (along wife my wife and 5-year-old-daughter). I have a room reservation at another hotel (the hotel where you guys stay has no lower level room  ). I still need the 600 carb installed but should be able to get that done by my mechanic friend. He will also make sure the ...
